Self Introduction
To give you a little more background about who I am, I am a native English speaker with an American accent from New York. I have a Bachelor’s degree in Journalism from the University at Albany SUNY and will receive my hour TEFL Certification from International TEFL Academy with an additional hours of Teaching Young Learners English by August . For the past year, I have worked at a nonprofit organization that focuses on outdoor education. In my role, I teach young children and teens how to build selfreliance, survival skills, and natural crafts.
As for specific TEFL experience, I have most recently signed on to become an online TEFL tutor through the company Cambly. In addition, I am currently working as an online tutor with My Cultural Connect MCC, a Taiwanese education nonprofit that provides English education and cultural exchange support in underserved rural schools. I have also previously worked as a Book Buddies tutor, where I worked with students to increase their proficiency of reading the English language.
I am extremely passionate about sharing my knowledge with young learners to help them develop and grow into their own unique individuals. I pride myself on my ability to connect my lessons with the general interests of my students and I always strive to create a fun and positive learning environment.
